Xfinity ends 11-year run as NASCAR entitlement sponsor
The era of Xfinity sponsoring the second-tier NASCAR series concludes an 11-year journey Saturday night at Phoenix Raceway.
The telecommunications company, under parent company Comcast, had been the presenting sponsor of the series since 2015.
As a thank you to NASCAR fans, the company ensured the final stage of the Xfinity Championship Race remained caution free — all 110 laps of it.
Some past champions of the series gave the command to fire engines before the start of the race.
O’Reilly Auto Parts will take over as the presenting partner of the series in 2026.
Origin
The series has seen various presenting partners of the series over the years.
Alcohol sponsorship of the series included Budweiser and Busch throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
Nationwide Insurance sponsored the series from 2008 to 2014.
In Sept. 2014, NASCAR announced a 10-year deal with Xfinity to rebrand the series starting on Jan. 1, 2015.
In Feb. 2025, Comcast confirmed to TRE it would end its entitlement sponsorship at the end of the year.
Over the Years
The series saw nine different champions in its 11 seasons, with Tyler Reddick the only two-time champion crowned under Xfinity’s reign.
In total, 57 drivers won during the Xfinity partnership, with 45 drivers winning multiple times. The most-winning drivers during the era include Kyle Busch (32 wins), Justin Allgaier (25), Christopher Bell (19), A.J. Allmendinger (16), Cole Custer (15), and Kyle Larson (15).
In total, 363 races were branded with the Xfinity partnership, and two drivers competed in every single race under that banner: Jeremy Clements and Ryan Sieg.
The rest of the Top-10 on that list include: Brandon Jones (335), Justin Allgaier (330), Josh Williams (249), Joey Gase (229), David Starr (229), J.J. Yeley (208), Jeb Burton (206), and Ross Chastain (206).
