Hunter Mahan's Kardashian Comparison Goes Viral In Early Quote Of The Week Contender ...

We’re barely a day into the 2025 PGA Championship and we may have the quote of the week already, courtesy of a player who isn’t even teeing it up at Quail Hollow.

The Athletic’s Gabby Herzig spoke to Hunter Mahan ahead of the year’s second Major and the six-time PGA Tour winner delivered a line that quickly began to go viral on social media.

“I guess I would say Quail Hollow is like a Kardashian,” Mahan, who made over 450 PGA Tour starts before becoming a high school coach said.

“It’s very modern, beautiful and well-kept. But it lacks a soul or character.”

While the comment may well offend the Kardashians, the lack of “soul and character” line is certainly something that the PGA Championship struggles with, and a reason why some consider it to be ranked fourth out of the four men’s Majors.

While The Masters has Augusta, the US Open has the toughest test in golf mantle and The Open is the oldest and most historic golf tournament in the world, the PGA Championship has often lacked a true identity.

One of those reasons is due to the courses used, with venues regularly being long, parkland layouts that feature thick rough along the fairways and around the greens. This week’s venue Quail Hollow regularly features on the PGA Tour and looks set to be in a similar ilk to previous tests, especially after the early week rain.

The different courses also poses the question of whether the PGA is an extremely demanding test or a birdie-fest? You never really know what you’re going to get year-in, year-out.

That’s something Jon Rahm commented on ahead of this week’s action at the North Carolina venue.

“Yeah, you get different things every time you come,” he said.

“It’s very difficult to say that two of them are the same. You can have somewhere you go into a playoff at 5-under and then last year where 21-under wins it.

“A Whistling Straits, he [Jason Day] got to 20 because Jordan was 17. Jason got to 20 at Whistling Straits, which even in a Ryder Cup setup, I wouldn’t in a million years think anyone would get to 20-under there. It’s quite interesting.

“Then you have a Bethpage where you have single digits again. US Opens, for the most part, you know what you’re getting and so on. It definitely has a character of having that different character each time you come.”

While many list the PGA Championship as 4th out of four, one legend actually has The Masters in fourth-place, Gary Player.

“But, never mind the Masters, The Open is by far the greatest tournament on the planet,” Player told the Daily Mail in 2023.

“I rate The Open at one, the US Open two, PGA three and Augusta four; four marvelous tournaments.”

Ironman confirms death of athlete at Durban event

Ironman has confirmed the death of an athlete who took part in last weekend’s event in Durban.

Responding to questions from IOL, organisers said the athlete went into distress while taking part in the swimming section of the three-part event.

“We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of a race participant following Sunday’s Ironman 70.3 Durban triathlon.

“During the swim portion of the race, swim safety personnel noticed and responded to an athlete in distress approximately 1.6km into the 1.9km swim,” organisers said.

They added that the athlete received immediate medical care while being taken via jet-ski to a designated extraction point on the beach, where further treatment was administered.

“The athlete was then transported to the hospital, where they had been receiving care. Despite the best medical treatment over the past few days, the athlete sadly passed on Wednesday,” a spokesperson told IOL.

“We mourn the loss of one of our fellow athletes and share our condolences with their family and friends whom we will continue to offer our support as they go through this very difficult time.

“Our gratitude goes out to the safety personnel and first responders who worked quickly onsite to provide the athlete with medical support as well as those who provided care at the hospital,” organisers added.

“Most dadcore thing” – NBA Fans was in awe as NFL veteran Tom Brady leaves out LeBron ...

NFL legend draws the attention of NBA fans as he names some of the greatest athletes of all time, but surprisingly leaves out one major name from the world of basketball. Former American football quarterback and current sports broadcaster for the NFL, Tom Brady, in his recent interview, listed out the names of the athletes who are on his Mount Rushmore of GOATs. While players like Kobe Bryant and Caitlin Clark made it to the list, the absence of LeBron James from the list is what drew the attention of the fans.

Tom Brady announces Michael Jordan on the top of the list, supports other woman NBA players like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and A’ja Wilson

Tom Brady and LeBron James developed their friendship over the years as both athletes concentrated on establishing their careers in their respective sports. Even though they cannot be termed as the closest of friends, the players share a warm relationship through their posts on social media. Often, both of them are seen congratulating each other on any major achievements secured by either one of them.

While fans have witnessed the sportsmanship from both sides, Brady’s recent revelation of his Mount Rushmore of GOATs has generated significant reaction from the fans of the NBA veteran. More so with the inclusion of newcomers like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, fans seem to be quite dissatisfied with the NFL veteran list.

In a recent interview, when asked about the list of GOATs, Brady instantly replied, “Michael Jordan, he was my childhood idol. Obviously, I loved Kobe Bryant. Still love Kobe Bryant. Tiger — his competitiveness. What Rory McIlroy has done; I love that.” The veteran went on to name athletes from other sports as well, “Shohei Ohtani, what he has done, has been unbelievable. Barry Bonds — he went to my high school. I was the biggest fan of his growing up. Michael Phelps, I love him. Michael Johnson. A’ja Wilson from my Las Vegas Aces. I love her. She’s amazing. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, this little thing that they got going. I love that.”

It is quite clear from his answer that Brady has placed Michael Jordan as the GOAT over LeBron James, which has been the centre of the GOAT debate within the NBA for a very long time now.

LeBron fans have spoken up on the list with one of the users writing, “tom brady putting caitlin and angel on his mount rushmore but not lebron is the most dadcore thing i’ve ever seen”

Another one wrote, “Lol pathetic”

“tom brady just picked jordan over lebron and put caitlin clark on his mount rushmore… y’all still calling him a system qb?”

With Brady announcing his list, another sports veteran has seemingly submitted his vote for the NBA GOAT debate between Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Having Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese on the list as well has drawn criticism from the fans across the social media platforms.

Tom Brady names his Mt Rushmore of GOATs but leaves out a surprising name

It’s no secret that Tom Brady is a multitasker; the seven-time Super Bowl champion is a minority shareholder of the Las Vegas Raiders and just launched a new organic, vegan gummies label. And Tom Brady naturally appreciates other perfectionists in sports and recently spoke about his favourite athletes.

When Brady was asked about his Mount Rushmore of GOATS, i.e. his pick of the best athletes, he listed several icons from different sports. But what caught his fans’ attention was that he omitted a big name who is not just an NBA icon but also a friend.

Who is a part of Tom Brady’s Mt Rushmore of GOATs?

Tom Brady listed Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Shohei Ohtani, and a few other sports legends. Breaking down his picks, Brady said, “Michael Jordan, he was my childhood idol. Obviously, I loved Kobe Bryant,” he added. “Still love Kobe Bryant.”

“Tiger — his competitiveness. What Rory McIlroy has done; I love that. Shohei Ohtani, what he has done, has been unbelievable. Barry Bonds — he went to my high school. I was the biggest fan of his growing up. Michael Phelps, I love him. Michael Johnson. A’ja Wilson from my Las Vegas Aces. I love her. She’s amazing,” he said.

But Tom Brady notable left out LeBron James from the list, which is surprising considering Brady has praised James in the past and LeBron has also admitted to being friends with him.

Fans were quick to point out that Brady’s omission of LeBron’s name was surprising. But Tom Brady won brownie points for mentioning two young icons who have been engaged in something interesting.

These two stars are Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, whose “rivalry” has been one of the most talked-about storylines in women’s basketball. During the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, Caitlin Clark (Iowa Hawkeyes) had a record-breaking tournament run while Angel Reese (LSU Tigers) led her team to victory and was able to match Clark’s drive and intensity.

Reese famously did the “you can’t see me” gesture and pointed to her ring finger during the championship game, which drew some flak and led to broader discussions on how Black female athletes are portrayed versus white athletes.

And Tom Brady mentioned their dynamic during his interview. “Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, this little thing they got going, I love that. It’s been really exciting,” he noted. Tom Brady has in the past cheered on Caitlin Clark and has also rooted for emerging female athletes, which impressed fans.

In another recent interview Tom Brady opened up about the common stereotypes he has been associated with. The interviewer asked him how Brady has often referred to himself as “hyper competitive” and “a psychopath” and whether he approaches business the same way.

Brady responded, “Actually, no. That’s what I need help with. And that’s why I have business partners who are psychopaths. They cross every t and dot the i’s. I approached football in a very different way — I was into the nuances of the sport I understood so well. And I’m realizing that in business, those details are what matter, too. Especially against tough competition.”

He further added, “Partnering with great people in the end is what matters the most. You’ve got to bet on people who have vision, experience, a great work ethic, and great teamwork. And you know that in business, just like sports, things don’t always go your way. So you’re always going to have to figure out ways to overcome adversity and beat the competition.”

Simone Biles Slams Riley Gaines Amid Backlash Over Trans Athlete's Softball Win In Minnesota

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has responded to criticism from former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines after a transgender athlete helped a Minnesota high school team win a state softball championship.

The Champlin Park Rebels won the Class AAAA girls’ softball title on Friday, defeating Bloomington Jefferson 6–0 at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. Junior pitcher Marissa Rothenberger, who is a trans-identifying athlete, pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing only three hits and striking out six. Rothenberger pitched all the 21 innings of the tournament, giving up just two runs across three games and was named to the All-Tournament team.

After the game, Gaines criticized the inclusion of Rothenberger in the game, calling out Minnesota for allowing a “boy” to compete in the girls’ division.

Biles responded to her criticism on social media, writing, “@Riley_Gaines_ You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser.” She added, “You should be uplifting the trans community… Maybe a transgender category in ALL sports! But instead… You bully them.”

In another post, Biles wrote, “Bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male @Riley_Gaines_.”

This is a developing story.

This Realtor’s Funny Home Tours Keep Going Viral

Breanna Banaciski (@tampa_bre) is a 30-year-old Realtor in Tampa, Florida, whose home tour TikToks are so funny they keep going viral — even among people who have absolutely zero plans of ever being able to own a home.

For example, Breanna started a video about a $1.3 million home by deadpanning, “Please share this with your rich friends. I’m gonna share it with the neck beards and my DMs who keep offering me money to see pictures of my feet. Joke’s on you, b****. I have athlete’s foot.”

At another home, she quipped, “There’s no garage. But let’s be honest, you don’t need to keep your 2011 Toyota Camry safe.”

But my personal favorite of her videos is this home tour, where it feels like she’s really going hard after one specific individual who owns a lifted truck. “This carport is tall enough to fit your jacked-up F150, but not tall enough to fill the void of when your father left.”

And in the comments, people are really loving her approach.

Like, we are here, impatiently waiting to binge her show. HGTV, do your thing!!

She’s truly putting the “real” in real estate.

I had to learn more about how Breanna got into real estate, what her peers think about her unconventional sales technique, and her serious recommendations for people in the current housing market, so I reached out to her via email.

Breanna told me that she’s only been working in real estate for nine months, but she had transferable skills from her former career. “I’ve worked in sales the majority of my life, but hated being stuck inside an office all day. Real estate was a way for me to escape the mundane 9-to-5 job. It also gave me flexibility to travel, which I love doing.”

She also said that she never expected her videos to go so viral, reaching people far from her home base in Florida. “I’m shocked by how many views I’ve gotten in this short period of time. I didn’t think my ‘stand-up comedy’ routines would resonate with so many people.”

And she says that her peers in real estate seem to enjoy her home tours just as much as renters like me. “I have received an overwhelming amount of support from realtors and clients. Everyone really seems to enjoy my videos. I’ve been told that I’m ‘a breath of fresh air.'”

Breanna also shared her honest advice for anyone looking to buy a home in 2025. “Work with people that you trust and that have your best interest in mind. The home buying process can be overwhelming and sometimes tiring. Don’t buy a home that you aren’t 100% sure of. This is one of the biggest purchase decisions you’ll ever make. Take your time and enjoy it.”

Finally, she shared her tips for anyone who’s hoping their content will break through like her TikToks have. “If you’re a creator or a business looking to grow your social media presence, start creating content that you would want to watch. Don’t overthink the analytics. There aren’t any ‘hacks’ that will magically make you grow. Create content that you genuinely love, shows who you are, and the rest will fall into place.”
