IRVING, Texas – Redshirt freshman Mia Lien has been named the American Athletic Conference Women’s field Athlete of the Week, officials from the conference office announced on Tuesday. This marks the second weekly award for the Roadrunners this outdoor season.

A first-year performer from Jakobsli, Norway, Lien had an impressive weekend at Texas A&M’s 44 Farms Team Invitational, earning 5,741 points in the heptathlon – the third most points in the nation. Her performance in College Station registered as the second-most heptathlon points in school history. She also set a school record in high jump at 1.83m (6-0) – the sixth-highest mark in the nation, while jumping 6.30m (20-8) in long jump – the 21st-best mark in the nation.

This marks the second AAC Athlete of the Week honor for the Roadrunners this outdoor season and the first of Lien’s career. This is the fourth overall UTSA outdoor AAC honor and the ninth for either season for UTSA since the program joined The American before the 2023-24 school year.

The next competition on the schedule Lien and the Roadrunners is a trip to Walnut, California this weekend for the 65th Annual Mt. SAC Relays, running April 16-19.
