Remove Ravindra Jadeja

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have once again faced a crushing defeat, being knocked out in the first round of IPL 2025 for the second consecutive season. Under Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s captaincy, CSK is stuck at the bottom of the points table, suffering their 10th loss in 13 matches after a 6-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals on May 20.

Following this disappointing run, former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has publicly called for the removal of seven underperforming players, with Ravindra Jadeja’s name topping the list.

Players Marked for Elimination

Speaking on ESPN Cricinfo’s Time Out show, Chopra insisted CSK management should act swiftly to rebuild the team by dropping:

  • Ravindra Jadeja (all-rounder)
  • Ravichandran Ashwin (off-spinner)
  • Rachin Ravindra (opener)
  • David Conway
  • Vijay Shankar (all-rounder)
  • Deepak Hooda
  • Rahul Tripathi (middle-order batsman)

Chopra especially targeted Jadeja, who has been a long-time CSK stalwart but struggled throughout IPL 2025.

Why is Jadeja Under Fire?

Chopra criticized the decision to promote Jadeja to the No. 4 batting position, calling it “beyond comprehension.” Jadeja’s performance with both bat and ball has been disappointing this season, scoring just 280 runs and taking 8 wickets in 13 matches.

“It was a mistake to send Jadeja above Dewald Brevis,” Chopra remarked. “If I were the coach, I’d send Brevis to number 4. I want to see Urvil Patel at No. 3 and a quick-scoring partner alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad.”

Need for Fresh Talent

Chopra emphasized the urgent need for fresh, dynamic players in the squad. He pointed out the impact of young foreign players like Noor Ahmed and Pathirana in bowling, suggesting a similar solution in batting by bringing in another Brevis-type player.

Bright Spots in an Otherwise Dark Season

Despite the poor season, spinner Noor Ahmed stood out with 21 wickets, currently second in the Purple Cap race. All-rounder Shivam Dube also shined with 340 runs, ranking 21st among the season’s top scorers.

Yet, CSK’s biggest embarrassment came from losing five consecutive home matches at the Chepauk stadium, winning only once against Mumbai Indians this season.

Alphonso Davies' reaction to Jamal Musiala's horrendous injury at Club World Cup goes viral

Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies has gone viral after teammate Jamal Musiala suffered a horror injury at the Club World Cup.

On Saturday evening, Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain booked a spot in the semi finals of the Club World Cup with an impressive 2-0 win over Bayern Munich at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

After a goalless first half, French youngster Desire Doue opened up the scoresheet in the 71st minute, before Ballon d’Or favourite Ousmane Dembele doubled PSG’s lead in the closing moments of the match.

However, the biggest moment of the match came late in the first half, as Bayern star Musiala suffered a horrific injury to his lower leg, forcing the game to be halted as the 22-year-old was taken off by a stretcher.

The moment shocked everyone watching, including Musiala’s teammate Davies who hosted a live watchalong for the game on popular streaming platform Twitch.

Warning: The below video contains images that viewers may find distressing.

After sustaining a season-ending injury to his anterior cruciate ligament at the end of March, Davies was forced to stay at home as his teammates travelled to the US for the Club World Cup.

But just because he isn’t physically at the tournament doesn’t mean he hasn’t been supporting his team, as he has their matches on his popular livestream.

As live-streaming his reactions to the match is massively popular among fans, it means that his instant reaction to Musiala’s freak injury was instantly captured, and he was clearly very upset.

Once it became clear that Musiala was seriously injured, Davies immediately took his headphones off and fell to his knees, screaming: “No! Oh my God no, please no.”

As he held back tears, it was clear that the Canadian was deeply impacted by the moment, as he continued to beg that the injury wasn’t as bad as it appeared on television.

Davies wasn’t the only player that was visibly upset by the injury, as several of the PSG and Bayern Munich players involved in the game also appeared to be holding back tears, including Gianluigi Donnarumma, who accidentally caused the injury.

As it stands, it is unclear exactly how severe Musiala’s injury is, but it is expected that he will be sidelined for much of Bayern’s pre season training.

Ben Shelton's girlfriend Trinity Rodman mocks her viral Wimbledon love stare

Everyone on social media had the same joke. I hope someone looks at me the way Trinity Rodman looks at her boyfriend Ben Shelton.

As the upstart young American looks to make a deep run at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships (playing right now with a chance to get to the fourth round at tennis’ most prestigious major for the second year in a row), the 22 year old has already won off the court by having such a fantastic world-class girlfriend and star athlete at his side.

If you were living under a rock, here’s the clip that has 5.5 millions views as of this posting of Rodman going gaga for her man, which Shelton eventually finished in 69 seconds (yes, there were lots of jokes about that as well), when the second-round match was controversially suspended for darkness.

The USWNT and NWSL Washington Spirit forward, 23, made fun of herself with an Instagram post with the two of them staring at each other at Wimbledon in a more casual setting.

“Watching you with googly eyes😍🤪❤️,” Rodman wrote.

Shelton replied in the captions, “Why am I cheesin so big.”

Shelton is cheesin’ so big because hopefully he’s just as smitten, which very much seems to be the case if you follow either of them on social media.

And that smiler will get even bigger if the Gainesville, Florida native and naturally, Florida Gator alum, can take care of business for his first Wimbledon quarterfinals with two more victories.

Neeraj Chopra To Compete In Javelin Event Named After Him

Double Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra is living a dream of competing in a javelin event that bears his name and believes that it is start of something significant in Indian athletics which now needs multiple world class events.

The Neeraj Chopra Classic, which will feature top-class athletes, is set to take place at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Saturday.

Chopra said he will try to upscale the event in the coming years.

“I feel like I’m in a dream. Medals are a different thing. But I’ve given something like this to India and to Indian athletes. I’m very happy about that. This is the beginning of a new chapter in our athletics,” Chopra said in a pre-event press meet here Friday.

“The support I’m getting from everyone. From the government, from KOA (Karnataka Olympic Association), from World Athletics, from the sponsors… I feel like we can make this event even better.” Chopra said he wanted to make the athletics competitions in India comparable to the events which are held regularly in the traditional powerhouses like the USA or European nations.

“This is the beginning of international competitions in India. As we see, there are so many international competitions in Germany and such nations – A category, B, C etc and every week, there’s a competition.

“So, this is what I want in India, as there should be at least 4, 5, 6 competitions which are world class. The athletes should get a chance and people should see them play. That will be very good for our sport,” he explained.

While he is very much involved in the conduct of the event, the star athlete said he has not diverted his focus from acing an elite field here on Saturday, and keeping his preparation on track for the upcoming World Championships.

“The athlete in me is always up (for the competition). That’s why I’m trying to manage everything. My team is also handling so many things. But the athlete in me is always up. I’m training hard,” he said.

“After doing everything, I train. I did throw sessions, too. So, yes. I have a mindset for that ahead of tomorrow’s competition.” While winning the event that has been named after him remains his immediate priority, Chopra is aware that he has a bigger challenge coming his way in the World Championships in Tokyo in September.

The ace Indian javelin thrower said he has his eyes firmly set on the blue riband event.

“Of course, tomorrow’s competition is very important and after that we will start preparing for the World Championships. I’m very happy to be here with the coach (Jan Zelezny). Yesterday, I was training in the gym with the coach. This is the kind of competition that will be the target ahead of the World Championship,” he noted.

Beyond the personal glory moment, Chopra was also excited to see a world class event taking place in India.

“I’m very happy that this is finally happening. I was at the gym yesterday and I saw other athletes throwing and that has been my dream. I will say it again that I never thought there would be an event like this.

“I never thought I would represent India and win a medal. All that has happened. Now, there’s peace in my mind that something like this is happening.” ‘Work in progress regarding technical improvement’

Regarding his quest for technical improvement, Chopra said it has been a work in progress.

“Training started a bit late (this season), but we worked on my technique, which I am able to follow well in training. There are a few things I have to improve in my training, and I am working on that,” said Chopra who started working with coach Zelezny only in February.

“It’s tough to work on technique, run-up, throwing it straight, and working on blocking legs — these are some details I am working on and will look to follow in competition as well.” After his win in the Paris Diamond League last month, Chopra had said that he would need to work harder on his core muscles to make his body stronger and fine tune his technique to consistently log 90-plus distances in international competitions.

“I need some more control when I throw, there are things we have to change and I need some, maybe, strong core and stronger body for throwing.

“I go left quickly and it was not good. I need to throw to the front like with the chest and go up with the javelin. We are working on it,” he said.

Recently, a male singer went viral for his unexpected resemblance to the idol!

On July 3, a post on X featuring a music video screenshot was shared. At first glance, the image shown in the screenshot appears to be of Winter, though the person has red hair.

While it may look like Winter, the tweet’s caption reveals it is not. The tweet has over 4.1 million views, as netizens express their shock over the person’s similarities to Winter.

  • Damn, I was mindlessly scrolling through YouTube, saw someone pretty and clicked thinking it was Winter — but it turned out to be Zior Park.
  • I’m jealous that someone could even be mistaken for Winter.
  • Even after knowing it’s Zior Park, he still looks like Winter. What is this?

As stated in some of the comments, the person in the screenshot is Zior Park, a rapper who takes inspiration from fictional characters like Willy Wonka, Harley Quinn, and Cruella de Ville for his entire brand. He became active in the music industry after a failed start-up and has worked with other popular artists.

Usually, Park does not favor Winter, but in recent content for his latest release, “Twisted Fantasy,” a stronger resemblance is seen, likely due to the makeup emphasizing the size of his eyes. The bob worn in the video also helps create a more rounded face, like that of Winter’s.

They also look similar when making faces.
