The broadcast home of the Mets is in the very early stages of a possible sale.

SNY is exploring potential deals, including an outright sale, a source familiar with the situation confirmed.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the development Tuesday.

The network has hired bankers at Moelis & Co., a global investment bank, to begin the process of soliciting interest from potential investors.

There will be a “wide net cast,” the source said, in finding potential buyers, and the belief is there will be a “robust amount of interest,” the source added, from financial and strategic investors, including team owners, regional sports network owners and media companies.

It is possible and perhaps likely that one of those team owners will be Steve Cohen.

SNY is controlled by the Wilpon and Katz families, who retained the network even as they sold the Mets to the billionaire Cohen for about $2.4 billion in November 2020.

The network covers the Jets and other New York-area sports as well, but it is not a coincidence that a sale is being explored now — amid an excellent start for the first-place Mets and after an inspiring offseason that included landing Juan Soto for a record $765 million.

“It’s opportunistic,” the source said of the timing of a potential sale of a rare RSN that is doing well.

SNY, which is available to TV providers in New York, Connecticut and parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, has a partnership with the Mets that runs through 2035.

The Mets are popular, as are the network’s broadcasters — Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling — who are beloved by fans.

Bragg Gaming Group (NASDAQ:BRAG, TSX:BRAG) (“Bragg” or the “Company“), a global leader in next-generation iGaming content and technology, today proudly announces the appointment of Scott Milford as Executive Vice President, Group Content. This strategic leadership addition underscores Bragg’s commitment to sustaining its rapid growth in the United States and globally as a pioneer in online casino game development and gamification.

With more than 25 years of experience driving game innovation and studio success at major gaming brands including Aristocrat Leisure Limited (ASX:ALL), Konami Group (KNMCY) and Aruze Gaming, Scott Milford brings unmatched insight and leadership to one of the industry’s fastest-growing content development companies. In his new role, he will lead strategy, development, and delivery across Bragg’s acclaimed in-house studios—Wild Streak Gaming, Atomic Slot Lab, and Indigo Magic—and guide relationships with top-tier partner developers through the Powered by Bragg program, which includes in-demand studios such as King Show Games, Bluberi, and Gamomat.

Scott Milford’s arrival comes at a time of sustained momentum for Bragg. The company has seen 3x year-over-year growth in wagering on its high-margin proprietary content in the $9.5 billion U.S. iGaming market, a market poised to exceed $75 billion at full maturity. With standout releases like Dragon Power Triple Gold by Wild Streak Gaming and recent strategic initiatives such as its investment in Brazilian studio RapidPlay, Bragg continues to lead the charge in content innovation, game mechanics, and market expansion.

“Scott Milford is a transformational hire for Bragg,” said Matevž Mazij, Chief Executive Officer at Bragg. “His vision, depth of expertise, and proven success in building global game development teams will help propel us into the next phase of our growth. With the increasing popularity of our exclusive IP such as our Connect & Collect™ mechanic, and a doubling of our U.S. game release cadence, Scott’s leadership will ensure we stay ahead of the curve as the most innovative force in iGaming.”

“Bragg’s relentless focus on innovation and excellence is unlike anything I’ve seen,” said Scott Milford. “This is a company that doesn’t just follow trends—it sets them. I’m excited to help elevate Bragg’s world-class teams and partners to new heights, creating next-gen online casino experiences that redefine what’s possible in gamification and player engagement.”

An experienced product development executive, Scott Milford brings more than two decades of sector knowledge to his new role, including 17 years with global gaming content supplier Aristocrat Leisure Limited (ASX:ALL) (“Aristocrat”) where he held a variety of product and strategy positions.

Notably, he served as President and Managing Director of Aristocrat’s social casino division Product Madness, and most recently was Chief Product Officer for Aristocrat-owned $1.8b revenue free-to-play games operator Pixel United.

Prior to Aristocrat, Milford also held senior roles with Aruze Gaming Australia and Konami Gaming Australia.

Scott Milford will be based at Bragg’s Las Vegas Office.

The NHL’s Big City Greens Classic was the sports industry’s very first live, animated alt-cast. The 2024 NHL All-Star Game was the very first full game to be rendered in 3D on Roblox, via the NHL Blast experience. Other ADVs (animated data visualizations) have popped up on regional sports networks, major cable studio shows and on YouTube.

The bedrock of these experiences is advanced tracking data, not only from SMT’s player and puck sensors but also from two Sony sports businesses: Hawk-Eye’s optical tracking cameras and Beyond Sports’ immersive visualization tech. That foundation is capable of unlocking so much more under the NHL and Sony’s new global technology partnership.

The goal for much of this innovation, NHL EVP David Lehanski said, is “to create new or custom content experiences that broaden and expand the overall fan base for the NHL.”

As the NHL-Sony relationship morphs from client-vendor to formal partners, that could expand to other divisions such as Sony PlayStation, Pictures and Music.

“Ultimately, what we hope to have done with the new partnership is provided a framework where we can not only take the best bits of what we work on today and optimize those and really supercharge those, but with the festivalization of sport and how content consumption is changing and how there’s new technologies to make the game quicker, fairer, safer, we can bring all of the Sony capabilities [together] and help elevate the NHL,” said Rufus Hack, CEO of Sony’s sports businesses.

“Festivalization” is the key word, denoting the broader understanding of how sports can be experienced as cultural entertainment beyond the competition. While Hawk-Eye will enhance the tracking tech and provide new performance analytics to the clubs and avid fans, the real play here is unlocking the entertainment value of the sports in new ways for those who identify as casual fans or not yet on-board.

By his ranking, Hack said Sony works with 23 of the top 25 global sports leagues, providing him with a macro view of the industry, and that “the NHL are the innovators. They’re always the first people to be really willing to walk the walk, as well as talk the talk around some of this stuff.”

“The ability to unlock the power of this data,” Hack continued, is what “we genuinely think is going to play to a lot of the contextual trends that we’re seeing in the sports industry, of types of sports consumption. And Dave and his team are willing to maybe have a slightly increased risk profile, versus some other leagues, to really try some of this stuff.”

With sub-second latency on the advanced data feeds, Hack said fans will be able to one day personalize their content and choreograph the ADV production from different viewpoints within a digital recreation.

Lehanski — a former SBJ Tech Executive of the Year — then took the idea further, adding, “At some point we want to put that customization in the hands of the fans so they can start to create their own version. So there’s a pathway toward that. There’s also a level of interactivity that can occur. How we can start to create digital environments where fans can not only customize what they see, but actually be a part of the experience as well?”

The three key components for this newfound content creation:

  1. the infrastructure (such as the camera system)
  2. the processing of data, video and audio
  3. the distribution

Hack noted that NHL Hawk-Eye data is now processed in the cloud, granting ready access to “a mine of data” that can be applied to other media or betting opportunities. Lehanski said distribution remains the most underdeveloped part of the chain, but the goal is to explore how best to share these new digital experiences across a wide range of platforms.

Apple’s next-generation A20 chip, leveraging TSMC’s second-gen 2nm process (N2), will be smaller, more power-efficient, and positioned closer to its onboard memory, boosting performance and reducing power consumption for tasks like AI processing and high-end gaming.

Marcus Mendes for 9to5Mac:

According to analyst Jeff Pu in a new report for GF Securities, the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and the long-rumored iPhone 18 Fold are expected to debut Apple’s A20 chip, built on TSMC’s second-gen 2nm process (N2).

But that’s only part of the story. The more interesting bit is how those chips will be assembled.

For the first time, Apple is set to adopt Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM) packaging for its iPhone processors. WMCM allows different components, like the SoC and DRAM, to be integrated directly at the wafer level, before being diced into individual chips…

For Apple, this is a big leap in chip design, similar to when it adopted 3nm ahead of most of the industry. And for the broader mobile market, it suggests that technologies once reserved for data center GPUs and AI accelerators are making their way into smartphones.
